In this post I want to share with you 6 quick tips to help you achieve work at home life balance.
As we all know, in order to maintain a healthy, sane, balanced life, it’s important to make time in your life for personal responsibilities and activities. When your work life and personal life are out of balance, your stress level skyrockets.
But here’s the thing– achieving work-life balance can be challenging when you are working from your home.
I pride myself in being a organized person, but as I learned very quickly when I first started working from home, even if you are extremely organized, it can be difficult at times to separate personal from professional.
When your work and home share the same space, there are no physical boundaries, so it’s easy for work to overlap and even sometimes invade into your personal life or vice versa.
In Other Words, It’s Impossible to Achieve 100% Work Life Balance, Especially When You Work from Home.
And although, there are tons of books, articles and websites on the subject of work-life balance, achieving the right balance is essentially a personal issue. What works for some blogger or professional consultant, may not necessarily work for you.
While it may not be possible to always fully separate your personal life from your professional, I have found that the only way to attempt to achieve work at home life balance is to find ways to be productive that will afford you the least amount of stress.
Here are 6 Quick Tips To Help You Find Your Own Work at Home Life Balance
#1. Adjust your mindset – Remember that you are human and accept that no one can do it all. Focus your energies on the tasks at hand that most important and reschedule other tasks for later.
#2. Plan your activities realistically and adjust as needed. – Work life balance doesn’t necessarily mean an equal balance of time. Trying to schedule an equal number of hours for each of your activities looks good on paper, but it just doesn’t work in the real world.
#3. Stay flexible – Your work at home life balance will vary over time. The right balance that works for you today, will probably be different for you next month (or next week in some cases).
#4. Don’t get hung up on being perfect – When it comes to achieving work at home life balance, there really isn’t a perfect, one-size fits all solution. It would be really nice if it were that easy, but what works for someone else may not work for you because everyone has different priorities and different lives.
#5 Eat healthy – Eating well is must-do for maintaining normal body functions. Eating healthy will not only give you more energy and help you to get through the day, but it’s a lot easier to think more clearly, and deal with problems when your body is working well.
#6 Take mental breaks- This one is my favorite. A little serenity goes a long way. Learn to embrace quiet time. Carve out least a 20-30 during the day just for yourself. Leave your workspace and
- Go for a solo walk
- Sit outside and get some fresh air
- Take a short drive
