“Make $10,000 per day with just a click!”
“Make $500 per hour in your spare time!”
We see these ads all over the internet, especially when searching for ways to make money online. What’s unfortunate is that many people fall for these online money making scams and end up loosing their hard earned money.
In my continued effort to make it easier for you to find real ways to earn money at home, this post contains 4 warning signs of money making scams often used by fraudsters and unscrupulous organizations looking to prey on the unknowing.
#1: UNREALISTIC PROMISES
This is one of the biggest warning signs of online money making scams. It is true that you can make a lot of money working online, but it takes time and a lot of effort.
If you see online advertisements that make claims of:
- Overnight success
- Make millions of dollars in the next month/year
- Make hundreds of dollars in the next two hours
Beware, because more than likely it’s a scam.
#2: FAKE PICTURES, TESTIMONIALS OR VIDEOS
It amazes me that people still fall for these scams, but if you run across an opportunity and the sales page is filled with pictures of a huge mansion, fancy sports cars, or fake written/video testimonials, than chances are that opportunity is nothing but a scam.
#3: NO SUPPORT
This is very common with online money making scams. If you make an inquiry to a company about a product you are interested in and you don’t hear back from them within 48 hours, then you may want to avoid that opportunity.
Legitimate companies care about their customers. If an online money making opportunity is legit, the company will provide, live support, email contact information, a comment box, or even a phone number on it’s website.
This is another one of the biggest warning signs of online money making scams that you should look out for. Many online scams lure you into purchasing their product at a low price, i.e. $1, $7, etc. Then once you get into the member’s area, you discover that you need to upgrade to the higher priced package, in order for you to get access to all the resources that you need to make money.
Leaving you holding the bag, with a worthless product. Legitimate companies generally offer some type of money back guarantee if you aren’t satisfied with your purchase.
These are just a few of the many warning signs of online money making scams. Unfortunately, online scams are evolving all the time and scammers are constantly looking to find new ways to trick people out of their money.
If you spend a lot of time online, it’s not unusual to get tricked. The good news is that you don’t have to sit back and take it. Although, it can be disappointing. There is no need to be embarrassed. Report it.
If you think you have been scammed, contact the FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center and file a complaint.
