Become a Fare Fetcher and Earn Extra Money at Home (Review)

    earn extra money at home
    earn extra money home

Here’s a very interesting way to earn extra money at home. Do you spend a lot of time searching online? Are you good at finding deals?

Well, you can get paid helping others find great airline deals as a FareFetcher.  You’re wondering what the heck is a Fаrеfеtсhеr? Good question.  Let me explain.

Earn Extra Money at Home: How to Become a FareFetcher

    Exactly What is Farefetch

Fаrеfеtсh is an on-demand service that very іѕ similar to Ubеr. The difference being, is that you book airline flights instead of rides.

Wіth trаdіtіоnаl оnlіnе bооkіng ѕеrvісеѕ оr аррѕ, travelers submit their flight rеԛuіrеmеntѕ and then wаіt for feedback for the lowest fares available.

While thіѕ may ѕееm lіkе the best way tо find thе cheapest airline tісkеts.

Here’s the problem – travelers аrе tурісаllу at thе mеrсу оf trаvеl аgеntѕ оr trаvеl professionals whо do not necessarily іnсеntіvіzеd tо fіnd thе bеѕt travel dеаls.

Or they often еnd up spending hours researching aggregator sites like:Google Flіghtѕ, Kауаk, Exреdіа, etc.

Much like many other on-demand services, Fаrеfеtсh аіmѕ to change the game by рuttіng the рurchasing pоwеr іn the hаndѕ of the traveler. Thus, providing a convenient service that allows travelers to find cheap travel deals.

    Hоw it Works

Step 1: Travelers submit thеіr travel information, i.e, destination, return date, number of passengers, etc. via the app;  along with the amount they are willing to pay for a ticket.

Step 2: After their request is submitted,thеіr information is sent out via email to all of the fаrеfеtсhеrѕ.

Step 3: The first person (farefetcher)  that claims the information, gets to work the deal.

Step 4:  Next, their job is to search the web and find the best dеаl possible. They hаvе a thrее hour window to find a travel deal thаt mаtсhеѕ thе traveler’s budget.

    For Example:

Lеt’ѕ say a сuѕtоmеr rеԛuеѕtѕ a ticket from Nеw Yоrk to Atlаntа with a mаxіmum price оf $400. Thе fаrеfеtсhеr whо grаbѕ thаt request muѕt find a tісkеt fоr that price wіthіn three hours. If they fail, thеn the rеԛuеѕt іѕ ѕеnt tо thе next Farefetcher іn lіnе.

Step 5: Once a deal is found, the information is submitted back to Farefetch via an online form. Thеy in turn use this information to book the ticket on behalf of the traveler.

Step 6:  After the ticket is booked, Farefetcher sends the details to the traveler.

NOTE: If the traveler decides to make changes to their іtіnеrаrу аftеr thеіr flight is booked, they will have to contact the airline directly. They are solely responsible for any additional cost and it won’t affect you.

    Hоw Much Can You Make?

Your fee is the difference you saved the traveler minus the 10% service fee charged by Farefetch. They pay once a week via PayPal. (If you don’t have an account, you can get one for free here).

According to the website, the amount that you can make depends largely on the types of deals you book. So the lower the booking cost the more you profit.

On average, you can expect to make $20-$30 per hour.  In fact, it’s possible to make as much as $1,000 on a one deal.  Of course, you stand to make more when you book International or multiple domestic flights.

    Whо Cаn Become a Fаrеfеtсhеr?

The requirements are minimum, you must be:

    • At lеаѕt 18 уеаrѕ оld
    • Have the ability to do research
    • Sign up using the app (it’s available google play and the app store)

Hоwеvеr, you will need to be self disciplined and have the ability to manage your time well. Anyone that consistently fails to deliver results may be penalized and restricted from using the app.

45 Legit Work from Home Merchandising Companies

    best merchandising companies
    work from home part time

If you are looking for ways to earn money part-time, work from home merchandising companies are a great option. I have personally worked part-time as a field merchandiser. It’s an extremely convenient way to make money on the side.

    OVERVIEW MERCHANDISER JOBS

If you are unfamiliar with this type of work – merchandisers are hired by merchandising companies to perform varies retail tasks. For the most part, the work is fairly easy. Assignments are most often performed in retail outlets such as Walmart, Kroger, Dollar General, Home Depot, Sam’s, etc.

    Typical tasks can include:

    • Delivering new stock
    • Offering product samples to customers
    • Rotating stock
    • Installing promotional signs
    • Ensuring that the merchandise is displayed correctly
    • Ensuring that the proper level of stock is maintained
    • Taking Inventory and Performing Audits
    • Setting up, tearing down or re-setting displays and /or promotional shelves
    • Conducting physical product recalls

Work assignments can range from on-going part -time assignments, short term projects, route work, week end only projects or temporary special projects.

    WORK SCHEDULE

What I like most about merchandising is that:

    • You have the benefit of having a steady paycheck.
    • You can choose your own work hours.
    • You can work for more than one merchandising company.
    • It’s easy to incorporate work assignments around your lifestyle.

Some companies use self-scheduling software, which gives you the ability to choose the assignments you want to complete. While other companies assign work assignments by territory.

Some assignments may require you to work on certain days or only during certain hours. But for the most part you can visit your assigned stores on the days and during the times that are most convenient for you.

    make money merchandising from home

    AVERAGE PAY RATE

Work from home merchandising companies hire both independent contractors and W-2 employees.  The amount of money that you can expect to earn varies widely.

    For Example:

Independent contractors are paid per task.  Fees can range from $10.00 – $45.00 per task.

The pay for W-2 employees can range from $12.00 – $18.00 per hour. Companies that hire part- time merchandisers as W-2 employees, generally reimburse for gas, pay for training, provide benefits and offer some type of bonus program.

    HOW YOU GET PAID

Most work from home merchandising companies that hire W-2 employees pay weekly or bi-monthly. The majority of companies that hire independent contractors pay once a month; a few pay twice a month. Most all of the companies offer an option for direct deposit or pay via check.

    DISADVANTAGES

    • Some work projects can be tedious.
    • The pay for some jobs can be too low for the amount of work required.
    • Some merchandising companies can have unreasonable deadlines.
    • Work flow for some companies that hire independent contractors can be inconsistent.
    • Pay raises can be slow for merchandisers that are W-2 employees.

    GETTING STARTED

Most work from home merchandising company don’t require a lot experience to get hired. If you have worked in any type of retail environment, this experience is generally enough to get your foot in the door with most companies.

The best way to get started is to apply to as many merchandising companies as possible.  A really great way to build up your experience, is to accept lower paying jobs.  Once you have established yourself and feel comfortable working as a merchandiser, you can then apply for higher paying merchandising jobs that require experience.

    45 WFH FIELD MERCHANDISING COMPANIES

Along with merchandising jobs, some of the companies listed below also hire demo workers, samplers, schedulers, area managers, work from home sales reps and exit interviewers.

    ADDITIONAL SOURCES FOR FINDING OPPORTUNITIES

Many companies like Kellogg’s, Hershey’s and Pepsi post ads for merchandisers on job boards like: Indeed or Simply Hired.  And believe it or not, many organizations post jobs on Craigslist under retail or part-time jobs.

I have personally used my car as a way to make extra money.  I think it is one of the most convenient ways to earn cash on the side.

Some would argue that the money you make is not worth the depreciation on your vehicle or the cost of gas, but I disagree. With some of these gigs, you can earn as much as $1,000 a week working part-time!   At that rate, the car can almost pay for itself.

For example: I have pocketed as much as $1,200 in a day driving for Uber (on more than one occasion). And earned as much as $500 in a day conducting field inspections. So you be the judge.

With that being said, here’s a list of side gigs that you can use to make extra money with your car, with or without driving.

Amazon Flex – As a Flex driver, you’ll work through the Flex delivery app scheduling deliveries for  Amazon and Prime Now customers.  *Potential Earnings: Between $18-$25 per hour.

BuddyTruk – You will need a truck or van for this gig. This app based on-demand service involves providing local moving or delivery assistance in your community.  *Potential Earnings: Up to $40 per hour. *As of this writing this service is only available in select cities.

Caviar –  With this gig, you can make extra money with your car delivering food for restaurants in your city.  *Potential Earnings: Up to $25 per hour.  *This service is currently on available in select cities, but it appears to be growing.

Getaround – This peer-to-peer car sharing program, can be used to create an income renting out your vehicle. * Potential Earnings: As much $10,000 a year.

GoShare – This is another side gig that requires you to have a van or truck. Much like BuddyTruk, you can get your side hustle on helping people move, tow or deliver items in your community. *Potential Earnings: Up to $61.92 per hour.

Grubhub –  Unlike many other on-demand food deliver service, drivers are paid a guaranteed hourly salary. *Potential Earnings: $12 per hour plus tips.

HopSkipDrive – Created by moms, the super helpful gig, allows you to make extra money with your car driving kids around. *Potential Earnings: Up to $30 per hour.  *This service is currently only available in select cities, but it appears to be growing.

Instacart – As an Instacart shopper, you can get paid to shop and/ or deliver groceries in your community. *Potential Earnings: Up to $25 per hour.

Lugg – This on-demand moving service involves removing junk, helping others move, making deliveries, etc. *Potential Earnings: Up to $35 per hour.

Lyft –  One of the largest rideshare programs. You can work as an independent contractor giving people rides. *Potential Earnings: Up to $35 per hour.

MyFreeCar  – If you don’t mind turning your car into a billboard, this gig involves getting paid to put ads on your car, or as it’s called: Car Wrapping. *Potential Earnings: Drivers are paid $400 a month to drive as normal.

Orderup –  Another on-demand restaurant food delivery service.  *Potential Earnings: Up to $13.00 per hour not including tips.

    How To Overcome Disappointment

    overcoming disappointment

“The size of your success is measured by the strength of your desire; the size of your dream; and how you handle disappointment along the way.”
    ― Robert Kiyosaki

In a previous post, I touched on the subject of accepting that no one is perfect.  This post will address “How to Overcome Disappointment” or that let-down feeling that comes when things don’t go as expected.

According to Websterdisappointment is defined as “the feeling of unhappiness from the failure of something hoped for or expected to happen” or “when someone or something fails to satisfy our hopes or expectations.”

In other words, when we set ourselves up to hope for something and when that hope isn’t met, we experience disappointment. We feel let down or betrayed.

Unfortunately, this happens quite frequently when trying to find a way to earn money online or make money at home.

getting over disappointmentIt’s Not Easy to Get Over Disappointment

If you have experienced a major letdown, you are probably like most people, wondering, “how to overcome disappointment.”

Picking yourself up again is, unfortunately, a lot easier said than done. I know from personal experience that it’s hard to get back that feeling of enthusiasm and excitement that you had when you first started looking for ways to earn money from home.

It doesn’t take any special talent or effort to throw in the towel and say, “Forget it!”

But it takes an enormous amount of effort to overcome disappointment, get back up and try again. Especially when you have put your best efforts forth, gave it your all and/or lost your hard earned money on some worthless money making opportunity.

It’s a fact of life, disappointment is not fun. It’s actually much easier to do  nothing than to deal with additional disappointment.

    getting past disappointment

How Do You Overcome Disappointment, Bounce Back and Move Forward to Make Your Dream a Reality?

I know that this is easier said than done but—

The key is not to give up! This is the thing. Life is life. An occasional disappointment is a part of everyday life. We will never get to the place where we won’t have to face disappointments.  It’s how you choose to handle the disappointments that determines your successes in life.

You can choose the positive approach to overcome the disappointment and get better. Or you can choose the negative approach, and be bitter.

    It’s completely up to you!

    Try This

Take a minute and think about the people who are succeeding, whether it be earning money online, working from home or pursuing their passion.  With persistence, patience and  perseverance you too can achieve your dreams.

If they can do it then so can you!

Ask  yourself this question, do you want to look back a year from now smarter, wiser and one step closer to achieving your dreams or stuck in the same space day dreaming, wondering “how can I overcome being let down?”

how to overcome disappointment in life

    Steps To Overcome Letdown

If your choice is to move forward and get better, then I would like to share with you the process I have learned to use to bounce back from a letdown:

Step 1 Vent –  Acknowledge the disappointment. Allow yourself to feel what you are feeling and then let it out. Write it down, talk to a friend, kick the wall, cry, throw rocks, scream. (Trust me, this will help you to feel better). Do whatever you need to do to get it out of your system, so you can move forward.

Step 2 Reflect Back – Take some time to sit and really look at the situation for what it is. Things usually are not as bad as they seem at first. Look at the disappointment as a whole and ask yourself these questions:

    • Was the disappointment as big as you thought?
    • Were your expectation realistic?
    • Did you expect too much?
    • What specifically caused the disappointment?

Asking yourself these questions will give you a new perspective and bring you back to reality.

Step 3 Regroup – One good thing about experiencing disappointment, is that sometimes it may be a sign that you need to reassess your priorities and goals. Take the time to refocus your energies on your new goals and make adjustments as needed.

Step 4 Write Down Your Goals This is a very important and powerful step. Writing down your goals is the first step to making them a reality. It also helps to:

    • Free up room in your mind
    • Take your thinking to the next level
    • Eliminate distractions
    • Keep you focused

Keep the paper in front of you, put copies on your phone, on your laptop or pc. Tape copies on the wall in your bedroom or your bathroom mirror. Keep it somewhere where you will see it constantly and be reminded of what you want to achieve. A really good place would be to hang it on your rear view mirror in your car.

Step 5 Build Yourself Up – In some cases, disappointment can make you feel like an absolute failure. You may find yourself thinking, “why do these things keep happening to me,” or “working from home is too good to be true.”

Do let yourself succumb to this thinking. Don’t allow yourself to give in to these negative thoughts! You can become your own biggest motivator!

What you say to yourself is more important than anything anyone else says to you. Build yourself back up by using self-talk.

Encourage yourself by saying things like, “I can accomplish my goals. I can make it. I will achieve my dream of making money from home!”

Step 6 Try Again Don’t be afraid to try again. Take baby steps and move forward as you search for ways to make your dream of working from home a reality. Create a plan B just in case things don’t work out as expected.

Prior to pursuing your next opportunity,  take the time to do some research. Do a quick check on forums, review sites, etc., to screen out any worthless opportunities.

    get past disappointmentBottom Line

Disappointment is a part of life. Things are not always going to go as we expect. If we approach it positively, we can defeat disappointment and use the experience to help us to grow and come out stronger on the other side.

There a hundreds of thousands of legitimate work from home opportunities. You could be one opportunity away from making your dream a reality if you don’t quit.

Remember, opportunities await those that take action.

How Much You Can Expect To Earn

Some of the micro gig websites have a minimum starting rate that you can charge for your gig(s), i.e., $5, $10, etc. Others allow you the freedom to set your own rates. The real money is made by upselling and/or providing additional services, or packaging your services.

Here is an example: Let’s say you are offering a gig to proofread documents. You can charge additional fees by offering additional services to re-write the document or to complete the job within 24 hours.

Tips to Help You Get Started

Here are some pointers I got from a couple of experienced online writers:

Make a list of your skills, experiences, interests and topics that you’re knowledgeable about.  You don’t want to limit yourself. If you know it, experienced it, did it, tried it, or love it, write it down. There is a need for content on just about every topic imaginable, so don’t leave anything out.

Get a general understanding of writing for search engine optimization. You will need to learn the ability to use keywords and understand SEO. The savviest online writers implement a basic knowledge of search engine optimization into their work. SEO makes websites more “visible” for search engines by including specific keywords in articles.

Create writing samples. Most sources will want to see samples of your work. Others may want to see clips of published work.  Some others may just give you a topic and ask you write about it.

Write your bio. Your bio should include your expertise, your knowledge and/or experience with the related topics you plan to write about.

Search and apply for writing jobs. Join websites that advertise freelance writing jobs. Sign up for many different types of writing sites to increase your chances of getting an assignment.

Keep an eye on websites that offer free job listings like: Craigslist, FreelanceWritingGigs, and ProBlogger.  This is a great way to find jobs for beginners, build up your portfolio and make money writing online.

Consider paying a fee. Although you can find plenty of freelance writing jobs for free, some sites like Flexjobs charge a subscription fee to view job postings. While this may be a turnoff for those who can’t afford the fees, the payoff on this investment may be higher if it leads to lucrative work. This is also a great way to save time in research.

Accept lower paying assignments. This is the easiest way to gain experience and build up your portfolio.

Write tight. As I mentioned Web articles tend to be shorter and more to the point than print pieces. The majority of online blog posts and articles fall in the 400- to 600-word range, though there are many exceptions.

Use subheads, bullets and numbered lists.  When you write, keep in mind the various devices, readers use to access Web content—cell phones, tablets, laptops, etc. You want to be mindful of how the story will look on the page. This is especially important if you’re writing a longer piece. Make an effort to break the content into shorter sections with clear headings to make it easy for Web readers to browse.

Be mindful of the publication’s style. Don’t think that just because a market is small, it doesn’t have a strong voice and direction tailored to appeal to a specific kind of reader. As you’re writing, model your work after what you see on the site or blog already.

Include links to relevant articles or resources. The ability of your article to serve as a one-click resource for further reading is unique to online writing.

Network online. Join social media groups, forums and online communities for writers. While listings of freelance opportunities are a great place to start, don’t overlook the importance of networking. Word of mouth is one of the best forms of advertising. This can be a great way to locate potential opportunities that will help you to make money writing online.

Hone your skills. Practice writing, study and mimic (not copy) the writing style of popular bloggers and writers. The more you write, the better you will get. If you have not already done so, consider starting a blog, which can showcase your writing and give you the practice you need.

Learn to manage your time to meet deadlines. Meeting deadlines is a critical part of writing and is vital if you want to be successful, and make money writing online.

Apply frequently and often. Like other forms of home based work, it can take a while before you hear back from some of the writing jobs you applied to. The best way around this is to keep applying until you do hear back.

Make it your goal to only write for places that pay at least $15 per 400 words. Although, it’s still relatively low for the value of writing, but according to Writer’s Digest, it’s a good place to start and build up your portfolio which can lead to higher paying writing gigs.
